Memphis March 25 Charles W Wallace a well known sporting man suffered mel ancholia and drew two revolvers at his place of business causing almost instant death. John E Rousch his brother in law was wounded trying to stop him.
In Joplin Missouri on March 25 Joe Trim a machinist collapsed and died shortly after giving his wife a small amount of money for shopping. Police report no foul play suspected and the death appears to be sudden.
The Senate military affairs committee reviewed a War Department telegram from Brig. Gen. McCaskey, reporting Maj. Penrose court martial exonerated but concluding the Brownsville shooting was done by men of the 25th Infantry.
Four miners were killed and four rescued after an avalanche at the Brittannia mine on Howe Sound near Vancouver. The accident occurred March 25 near Bellingham Washington with eight men trapped and four recovered dead.
Millvale New Jersey March 26 reports the yacht Star, which departed Anglesea New Jersey Sunday for this area, was found floating upside down in Maurice River Cove near Dead Man’s Bottom and three men who left the yacht are feared drowned.
Sedalia Missouri March 25 Frederick Graugraine longtime resident born in the Louisiana Purchase and oldest native born citizen of St Louis celebrated his 101st birthday in Sedalia.
At a recent union session the Central Labor Union unanimously resolved to urge Gov Harris to appoint A D Stewart as judge of the Toledo police court. The resolutions allege Stewart is an old soldier and personal ally of Gov Harris, who helped him fill the vacancy through Stewart’s elevation.
A violent fight erupted when Andrew Wil Is and his telephone gang attempted to topple a telephone pole in front of Hosea Freeman’s home. During the melee a woman, Mrs. Freeman, attempted a shot card and killed him instantly, leaving the slayer in custody.
Gen Dr Epke Rolf Wall once led the Boer republic and now is in Columbus before sailing to New York for Europe. In Gallipolis Ohio Moses Shoemaker, a farmer near Kyger, was visited by whitecaps at midnight and whipped nearly to death for allegedly mistreating his blind son. He begged for mercy and was warned he would be killed next time. His condition is critical.

Leavenworth Kansas March 25 one death occurred among about 900 old soldiers at the National Soldiers home after tainted hash poisoned them. The deceased was William J Cook aged 64 a member of the 11th Missouri? regiment.
In San Francisco on March 26 Fred Baumbroth a teamster living in a tent shot and killed his wife then killed himself. No motive is known. Police say the couple were walking arm in arm before the shooting.
Attilla I. Mallory, brother of United States Senator B. Mallory, was found dead in his Pensacola office after returning from dinner. A workman entering the room discovered him on the floor in a dying condition.
A prominent Union physician shot and killed Lucy Litsey inside his office after she entered, closed the door, and fired a single bullet. The event occurred in Spartanburg on March 26, with authorities investigating the fatal shooting as a crime of passion or provocation.
Rev Dr D M Martens longtime proofreader at the Lutheran Book Concern died at his home 462 South Eighteenth Street after a brief illness. A Capital University alumnus and former instructor, he preached in Pennsylvania pulpits, authored and translated works, leaving a widow a daughter and three sons.
In Marietta Ohio an upstairs room gas explosion at the Albion hotel injures Marion Jones his wife and a two year old boarder. A pump left air into a open pipe ignited gas after the family retired with a light burning nearby. The blast tossed them from bed and consumed the room. six men in a neighboring room were also blown from bed but unharmed.
In Hamilton Ohio a 15 year old named Carl Antenan who lost his right arm while stealing a ride on a freight train at the H and D line was found to be suffering mental distress. A physician allegedly dug up the detached limb to ease his agony. The boy, now at Mercy hospital, complained the arm itched and the fingers were clenched. After the arm was recovered the fingers were found straightened and he appeared relieved.
John Hahn aged 28 drowned while driving through the river overflow on the road between Coshocton and Roscoe. His horse and carriage were swept over an embankment. his sister Emma 17 clung to the vehicle and survived. Hahn's body recovered after two hours. they were en route to their brother's wedding.
After extended talks between General Manager Lowell and employee committees a settlement on wages is announced. Engineers, firemen, conductors and other trainmen on the Ann Arbor receive an average seven percent increase while those on the Detroit Toledo and Ironton get five percent.
An iron girder at the Pennsylvania railroad docks in Sandusky broke loose from an 80 foot high derrick and toppled three workers. Edward Roberts of Lake Linden Michigan and Edward Webster of Fairport Ohio were killed instantly. T. J. Bauman of Toledo Ohio survived with his right leg crushed off at the hip.

In Athens Ohio, Wilson Carr was kicked by Kenneth Gillett during a school incident prompting Gillett to stab Carr in the back with a penknife. Carr is in serious condition. Gillett was arrested afterward. Both youths are of unspecified ages.
