Str Louis March 12 Joseph A Jackson president of St Louis Typographical Union was attacked by printer Thomas Costello while playing cards in a saloon about midnight Sunday night. They fought fiercely and Jackson was found to have chewed Costello's ear entirely off. Both men were highly connected and the altercation ended with injuries and taunts.
