Runaway couple die together in Chicago hotel room

L Hartman and his wife were found dead side by side in a Great Northern hotel room, each with a bullet wound in the temple. Thirty Men Imprisoned in Burning Mine Shaft No 2

Royal Pa June 11 The Pittsburg Coal Co shaft No 2 on the Bal to Ohio river bank was on fire again after seven years trapping over 30 miners. Six o clock smoke issued from the shaft and six men were inside when the fire began. Names of entombed include Jock Peary Stickler Frank Davenport Lawrence Satler and John Stokes with Satler not located. Rescue parties reached the surface after near-damp effects. Four others were missing. By seven o'clock another party descended shaft No 3 opposite on the opposite bank and has not been heard from. By Tuesday morning heavy smoke persisted and hopes faded.
