Large order for caskets from U S government in Pittsburgh
The National Casket Co of Pittsburgh has received from the United States government an order for 4,000 caskets and 4,000 rough boxes, the largest such order. The zinc lined coffins are costly and would fetch about $100 each. The coffins will transport soldiers killed in Cuba or who died there. If no relatives are available, the remains will be buried in U S national cemeteries.

CHADRON Neb December 19 The 33 prominent cattlemen of South Dakota indicted for manslaughter were tried at Hot Springs. The jury returned a not guilty verdict after fifteen minutes of deliberation. The murder stemmed from the killing of John Eckman a well known sheepman of Chadron last September by a band of cattlemen while moving his sheep into South Dakota.
