Rockport Mass August 25 The blue defending squadron defeated the white attacking squadron near Thatcher Island eight miles south of the harbor. The engagement ended after a strategic contest lasting nights with the blue fleet led by Adm Higginson overcoming Pillsburys forces including the Prairie Panther and Supply.
A race riot erupted in Haughville Indianapolis on Sunday between about 200 white and Black workers of the National Malleable Casting Co. Two killed and many injured as stones bricks and gunfire were used. Police and company officials fear further outbreaks as arrests mount.

Shenandoah Pa Aug 26 The Mahanoy township school board removed six of the township’s oldest teachers citing that their families include non union mine workers. Among those affected is Miss Anna Beddall sister of Joseph Beddall killed in the July 30 riot. Board ruled applicants connected with non union workers would not receive appointments.
