Pig Iron Industry Loses Millions Monthly Warns USA Group
The American Pigg eron Association reports US pig iron plants operate at a multi million dollar monthly loss. February margins show an average loss of 1.15 per ton for 85 percent of north of the Ohio River producers. Unfilled orders reach 1,714,801 tons as furnaces shut and receivers take control of some plants amid tariff objections and foreign competition.
