A personal tribute recalls Rev L E Innes as a lifelong friend and community leader. Born 1834 in Cardiganshire Wales he pursued ministry after studying at Lane Seminary and Ohio colleges, served in Tennessee and Ohio, and farmed after leaving the pulpit. His long career touched Greenville and surrounding towns, and his character is praised for integrity, gentleness, scholarship, and devotion.
In Palestine last Thursday night the K of P anniversary event drew its largest attendance yet. Youngsters delivered fine declamations and a sharp Knights drill led by Carl Jefferis. Daughters led by Bessie Rolfe and Helen Starbuck performed a broom drill under Lorena Woods. Mrs Norman Irelan visited her daughter Mrs Simpson. P J Saylor and wife visited Coletown. Baccalaureate sermon set for April 23 at Disciple church by Prof Rhoem of Greenville. Mar 20. From Pauesrixe.
