Mrs. CG Miller and P B Moul visit. county Sunday school meeting planned. Missionary Day attendance 129 with $9.80 collected. High school contests with Franklin township academy discussed. Probate court records list numerous estates, guardianships, sales, and licensed marriages in Bradford and surrounding townships.
Sunday visitors included Mrs Malinda Wieox with P J Saylor and wife H L Ludy and family and Miss Norma Shields. T J Wilson and wife called on David Ross. CB Harrig and wife, back from Florida, returned with Edward Jefferis and wife hosting Mrs Jefferis's brothers and parents. Three weeks of school remain before summer sessions with teachers to take a breather.

A fragmentary report claims alcohol costs absorb large state funds, with about one dollar in every four devoted to prisons and corrections, another quarter to public schools and universities, and a substantial share to health. It asserts that crime control consumes a major portion of the budget.
The city of Lima, under Mayor Smith, with the director of public safety and public service, bans all intoxicants for on duty workers. The order covers 150 to 200 employees and warns of immediate suspension and possible dismissal for violations.
Columbus faces a surplus of over 50 liquor licenses not in use as 40 saloons have quit drinking. City officials note only about 4 percent of 277 saloons are profitable, while England's liquor restrictions reportedly curb drunkenness by about 30 percent.
