New Art Center Spadework Set Tuesday at Park
Groundbreaking for the Venice Area Art League VAAL to build a new center in Blalock Park will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. on the Nokomis and Turin Avenues site with VAAL officers directors and city officials attending. A one minute tribute will honor Mrs Carl Hamilton a major contributor to the project with light refreshments following the program.

Venice Indians Rally Sparks 21 21 Tie With Naples Eagles
Naples led 21 7 at halftime as Venice staged a second half rally led by senior Steve Schepp. Schepp rushed 22 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns while Randy Willis connected for 137 passing yards to rally the Indians for a 21 21 draw with the Naples Eagles before 3 000 fans. Naples sorely misfired in the second half as Venice held to 36 rushing yards and seven passing in the final two periods.
