Ringling Circus Parade Sets Venice Weekend Pageant
Venice readies a Bicentennial Ringling Circus Parade on Saturday with a 10 a.m. high school band contest at Venice High School stadium and a 1:30 stage show after lunch. General admission tickets are 3.50 and include stadium seating for the two hour parade. Parade Director Dave Morgan warns early purchase to avoid gate crush. The event is sponsored by the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce to spotlight Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus with Gunther Gebel Williams coordinating the animals and State Rep. Robert Johnson riding the lead elephant in an 18-elephant caravan. The Egypt Temple Shrine Tampa will provide motorcycle drill teams and other acts riding in.
