Venice Time Capsule Plans Celebrate Bicentennial

C A Tony Briggs joins The Gondolier after earning a USF mass communications BA with a 3.4 GPA in March. Son of Venice editors, Briggs grew up in Nokomis and previously worked at USF Oracle and St. Petersburg Times through campus programs.

Sarasota County considers two calendars for 1976 77 school year

The School Board plans two calendars for 1976 77 starting August 23 ending June 3 or starting August 30 ending June 10. Differences center on professional days and the later start would push breaks and sessions one week later. Superintendent Pillot favors the later schedule to avoid ending summer vacations before Labor Day and asks for public comment.
