Korea contests Gutenberg claim with first movable type
A 1968 article notes Korea's claim to the invention of metal movable type between 1232 and 1241 with the 50-volume Letters on Authentic Etiquette in Detail printed in copper and fifty copies. It contrasts Korea's claim with Gutenberg's Western milestone between 1450 and 1456, while tracing the fate of the Gutenberg Bible and its renowned copies.
