Dear Abby columns on life choices and family issues
A reader writes about an unsuitable live-in arrangement with a father of two, a domineering mother, and seeking guidance. Abby advises separation from the mother, counseling, and notes the need to improve life balance while considering a future that supports her kids. Other letters discuss keeping an urn gifted by a late friend and a husband’s witty response to gender expectations.

Keep Your Lawn Mower Blade Sharp This Season
Lawnmower blades need sharpening and balancing. Have a serviceman grind and balance annually. Disconnect the spark plug before working on the blade to prevent engine spin. A rotary mower handles tall weeds better than reed mowers.
