Herron Park opens in Brunswick honoring late Josh Herron
Herron Park opened Saturday in Brunswick two years after former Brunswick High School student athlete Josh Herron died of bone cancer at 21. The park features a brick archway, a walkway, flag poles, landscaping and a plaque, funded by the Brunswick Athletic Foundation. Kim Goessler called the project a fitting tribute and a place for the community to remember Herron and “win the day.” Coach Joe Mackey said Herron’s memory brings the community comfort and a smile when he thinks of him.
