Medina County Park District expands Lake Medina footprint
The district added 12.63 acres to Lake Medina area, funded largely by a Clean Ohio Fund grant. Two parcels bordering the park were purchased, aided by a 17.56 acre Foote Road donation from 2018, totaling under 10 000 dollars. Mayor Hanwell calls the move outstanding. The forested land hosts mature oaks some over 200 years old and supports woodland birds. The lake lies between Route 18 and Granger Road near I 71 with hiking fishing biking canoeing and skiing nearby.

Medina ESC eyes online option for K-8 with county teachers
The Medina County Educational Service Center contemplates a remote program for grades K through 8 taught by ESC and district teachers to keep students connected to their home districts. If adopted, K-4 would have one core teacher while grades 5 to 8 split by subject, with art and PE also offered and seven and eight graders able to join home-district activities.
