No-Till Farming Reduces Soil Loss in Ohio Cropland
Columbus state conservationist Robert E. Quilliam highlights no-till farming as a soil erosion control on sloped Ohio fields. Research from Coshocton shows 3.95 inches of rainfall caused only 62 pounds per acre soil loss on a 21 percent slope, versus far higher losses under conventional tillage, with up to 100000 acres already using no-till.

Poppy Day Observance Prompts Local Red Poppy Drive
Medina residents will wear red poppies on May 19 and 20 to honor war dead. Frances Morlock of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Anna Hazen of the American Legion Auxiliaries organize drives in schools May 18 and in uptown areas May 19–20 to fund veteran support and child welfare. Disabled veterans in hospitals and convalescent workrooms receive employment and therapy through poppy production.

Medina Township Tables Curbs Rule At Regular Meeting
Medina Township trustees tabled a resolution to curb private drive curb cutting. A special meeting was set for May 23 to discuss the legislation.
