Medina crafter frames The 23rd Psalm in crochet art
Medina artist Mrs. Mattie Patton crocheted The 23rd Psalm for her Second Baptist Church presentation at 451 Bronson St. The work took months, is protected with plastic, and sits on an easel beside the pulpit. Patton, owner of Mattie's Dress Making Shop, began alterations in 1946 and reopened her shop after a 1960s fire. She crafts fringed capes, tablecloths, shawls, hats, shawl vests, and afghans, planning pineapple designs and new pot holder vests.
