Medina County recorded 80 initial unemployment claims for the week ending May 6, up 31 from the prior week, with a four week average of 85. Lorain County reported 176 claims for the same week, up 47, while Ohio total initial claims rose to 6,303 for the week, below 10,000 in four straight weeks and with a monthly average of 6,587.
