Unemployment claims dip as pandemic aid winds down
The Labor Department reports 498000 initial claims last week, the lowest since the pandemic hit. Claims fell 92000 from a revised 590000, with continued benefits easing in Ohio and Medina County. Analysts forecast April added about 975000 jobs and an unemployment rate near 5.8 percent.
