TurboTax settlement checks head to 4.4 million filers
Millions who paid TurboTax for federally funded free tax filing will receive restitution. Intuit must pay 141 million across 4.4 million people for 2016 to 2018. Eligible recipients do not need to file claims and will get automatic checks starting next week through May. Checks range from 29 to 85 dollars depending on eligible years. In 2019 ProPublica had shown deceptive marketing prompting the settlement led by New York AG Letitia James.
