Woman Makes Soap By Hand In Country Home
A Medina County woman preserves a grandmother recipe to craft facial and laundry soaps from rendered fat and lye. She uses fat, water, oats, borax, oils, goat milk and pine or lavender scents to create a gentle homemade soap. The family of seven lives on 44 acres near Chippewa Lake and grows vegetables while baking bread and pursuing organic gardening.
