Two juveniles and an adult who reportedly ran a burglary ring with more than $55,000 in stolen goods were each sentenced to 9 to 30 years in prison. Lenard Leyland, 17, of 6818 Spencer Lake Rd Lafayette Twp, was among those convicted.
The Planning and Zoning Commission in Lodi will hold a public meeting at village hall to discuss the development policy plan draft and proposed zoning ordinance amendments. The plan covers future residential commercial and industrial land use and street and park improvements. Copies are available at village hall.
Registration for all children in the Brunswick area planning to attend kindergarten in fall will be held Thursday and Friday. Parents should register at their current attendance area elementary school with birth certificates and immunization records. To be eligible a child must be 5 by Sept. 30, 1978.
Granger Township Highland Board of Education extended expired teachers contracts to August 31 at a special meeting. Superintendent Alfred Cowger noted contracts had ended April 30 and expressed hope the 8 mill operating levy on June 6 will pass to aid salary negotiations with teachers.

Police say Bostaph veered left of center while turning into 245 W Lafayette striking Robert Turnbaugh 30 of 4605 Windfall Rd Granger Two who was not injured.

Two area girls, ages 16 and 17, suffered injuries after jumping from a car driven by a man they knew who allegedly threatened them. The 16 year old from Parma has a fractured pelvis and ankle and remains in good condition at Medina Community Hospital. the 17 year old from Cleveland was treated and released. Authorities describe a chaotic pursuit along I-71 and local roads before the teens fled. Investigations continue as deputies search for further details.
