Highland Board proposes 8 mill levy for June ballot
A special informational meeting in Granger Township will occur Tuesday at 8 p.m. to discuss the Highland Board of Education 8 mill levy on the June 6 ballot. Public attendance is invited at the high school cafeteria. Brunswick Band Boosters meet Tuesday at 7 30 p.m. in the high school band room. The official Los Angeles flower is the bird of paradise.

Brunswick Man Hurt In Friday Motorcycle Crash
A 32 year old Brunswick man named Leon Hamrick was treated in fair condition at Southwest General Hospital after his motorcycle struck a culvert on Center Road Friday night. Police say the accelerator stuck causing the bike to leave the road flip and hit a culvert pipe. The incident remains under investigation.

Columbus couple robbed after picking up hitchhikers on I-71
A Columbus pair suffered a $740 robbery after giving a ride to a young man and woman on I-71 in York Township. Medina County deputies say the man pistol whipped the driver, forced him from the car, and the couple fled in a second vehicle with cash, a diamond ring, and a watch. The woman hitchhiker reportedly carried a sawed-off shotgun.
