Five Wadsworth boxers competed on the Golden Glovers show in Wadsworth. Rod Tavenello won a split decision over Ray Boyes after coming from the stands. Westerville's Mark Lawrence faced Dave Schilling in an exhibition. Kenny Childon lost a split decision to Ed Ames. The card included Stacy and Cotton Bennett, Albert Thorpe with Massaro, and Charles Williams delivering the lone knockout of the night. Proceeds aided the Wadsworth Pee Wee football program.

Medina Bees Sweep Erie Prep in Saturday Doubleheader
Medina dropped a two game set to Erie Prep Ramblers 14-2 in the opener and 4-1 in the nightcap. Rex Randolph made his first pitching appearance for the Bees but struggled in the seventh inning of game two allowing three runs after a tying double. Medina’s only runs came on a Bryenton RBI single in game two and a Trainor single in the opener.
