Sanctum by Oberlin Sinfonietta Seeks Justice Through Sound
The Oberlin Sinfonietta led by Timothy Weiss presents an updated Sanctum for a smaller choir and ensemble as part of Oberlin Stage Left. The program features Courtney Bryan’s piece exploring police brutality and systemic racism through a collage of recorded sermons and orchestral writing. The concert honors Black History Month with works by living Black composers and a mix of traditional and new voices from the Oberlin Conservatory.
