Freshmen aid Highland run to regional bid in district finals
James Madison, a Parma Senior social studies teacher, leads Highland with eight freshmen on a 13 player varsity roster as the Hornets chase their first league crown since 1980 and a regional appearance since 1992. Senior Maddie Miller and Delaney Lawson mentor the freshmen through a remarkable 37-0 middle school run and a 19-0 start before a Feb 1 setback, with Grace Madison, VanKirk, and Morgan stepping up as scorers and leaders. The team aims to seize this moment for the seniors while continuing the program’s strong youth-to-high-school pipeline.
