Medina School Board Accepts Resignation and Lifts Covid Rules
Medina City Schools accepted board member Brian Hilberg’s immediate resignation and moved to rescind COVID-19 safety protocols. An appointment will fill the seat until year end 2021, with applicants urged to submit by July 9 and interviews set for July 13 at Medina High School. The appointee would serve the remainder of Hilberg’s term and must run in the November election to continue. Hilberg opened Swine BBQ in Medina in May.

Safety Town makeup brings Brunswick kids to safety lessons
At Brunswick Middle School on Saturday Bruns wick and Brunswick Hills police and fire crews joined Brunswick Schools the Brunswick Rotary Club and Akron's Children's Hospital for an outdoor Safety Town event for about 120 kindergartners in two sessions. Topics included bicycle and water safety school bus safety and police and fire operations.

Brunswick Hills and Brunswick renew dispatch contract through 2024
Brunswick City Council renewed an emergency dispatch agreement with Brunswick Hills for police and fire services. The three year deal begins Jan 1 2022 and ends Dec 31 2024 with annual payments rising 2.5 2.7 and 3 percent to 74 691 05 76 745 05 and 79 047 40 respectively. Both entities cited mutual aid proximity and improved service as reasons for the renewal.

Rose seeks reelection to Medina at large council seat

The Medina County Coroner confirmed the deceased, a Seville resident, remains unnamed as investigators led by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources continue a lengthy search.
