Baron Noon ceremony joins Lariviere. The Barons and Lariviere couple wed at St. Mary Church in a noon mass officiated by Rev. Carl Gentner. The couple, Denison University graduates, will reside in Columbus Ohio after a Canada and New England wedding trip.
Aliie Louise Ritter of Medina and Eric F Jensen of Newtown Conn were married in a single ring ceremony at Medina United Methodist Church May 24. The Rev Allan Blackman and Rev Forest News officiated the 11 am nuptials before lilac decorated altars. The bride carried a lilac bouquet. Becky Wible was her attendant. Best man was Thomas Mattern. ushers were Carl F Ritter II and George W Ritter II. Out of town guests came from many states. The couple will spend summers in Rochester N Y and Connecticut. The bride is a Medina High School and Eastman School of Music graduate. she plans to pursue a masters degree. The groom, son of Grover Jensen and the late Mrs Jensen, holds degrees from Eastman and Kent School and will study for his doctorate this fall.
In Baton Rouge a 87 to 2 vote by Rep. Ed Booker’s panel killed the ratification resolution of the Equal Rights Amendment after a 90 minute session. Supporters argued for equal partnership while opponents cited nature’s differences. Thirty four states have ratified but proponents concede the effort is dead this year with a 1976 deadline.
The 70th annual American Peony Society exhibition occurs June 21 22 at Kingwood Center Mansfield. Entries close 11 30 a.m. Saturday with show open 2 p.m. 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Mark Lariviere graduated in biology and Melinda Roshon in psychology with honors, both Medina High School alumni. David Lariviere earned a political science BA at Depauw. Bowling Green listed ten Medina county candidates including Ronald Hanwell Jacqueline Staib and Jill Pennington among others for degrees in business education arts and music. Aliie Louise Ritter Jensen of Medina area graduated from Eastman School of Music with a Master of Music and her husband Eric Jensen will pursue a PhD at Eastman.
