Medina woman sues over conscious during thyroid surgery
Paige Horton of Medina filed a lawsuit in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas against the Cleveland Clinic and Medina Hospital alleging negligent care during December 2022 thyroid surgery. Court documents say she was fully conscious during part of the procedure and later told her parents the team provided more anesthesia after issues arose.

Medina Recreation Center launched the summer Party in the Parks at Fred Greenwood Park with 80s temps and activities for kids. Children played yard games, used the splash pads, and enjoyed Kona Ice before Mad Science presented at noon. Sponsored by Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital and the Recreation Center, the program began in 2021 to offer free park activities for residents. Program manager Steve Frantz said the events keep growing and hope more community members attend.

The nonprofit Farming with Friends in Hinckley Township raised $500,000 in under 10 months to fund its 87 acre farm on Center Road for two years of operating costs.
