Women Advancing Toward Equal Pay
The Equal Pay Act aims to end wage gaps between men and women doing similar work. The Labor Department pursued Sears Roebuck in Owensboro Kentucky, getting $50,282 in back wages and wage parity for 14 women, plus a plan for audit teams across its stores. A massive Manpower Administration survey of over 10,000 working women will assess earnings and career barriers, with results in a year or more.
