Babcock drive eases access with cliffside road cut

Hinckley residents Richard and family Babcock will have an identifiable driveway cut through a rock cliff on Rt. 303 west of town after the state approved the passage to reach their two acres atop the cliff. The project followed a lengthy push by the Hinckley Chamber of Commerce, led by Ed Spatz, amid past fatal and serious accidents on the hill. Maple Hill Drive remains as the old route, ending in a cul de sac atop the cliff. Separately, proceeds from the Firecracker 23.3 mile bicycle race benefit the Medina Jaycees CPR operation Four-Minute, with Brent Wood noted as Medina County Park District director. The race starts at the Medina County Fairgrounds at 10:30 a.m. and ends at Chippewa Lake Park.
