Premature remarks in Casey Goodson shooting comment
U S marshal Peter Tobin said his initial characterization of the fatal Dec 4 shooting by a Franklin County deputy as justified was premature and based on insufficient information. He distanced the Marshals Service from Deputy Jason Meade, noting the deputy acted within his home jurisdiction. Protests erupted in Columbus as authorities pledged transparency and safety.
