Medina County reports 90 initial unemployment claims for the week ending Aug 6, up 16 from the prior week, with four week average at 89. Lorain County launches a sharp jump to 287 claims from 139 the prior week, four-week average 304. Statewide initial claims total 7,891, up 276, remaining under 10,000 for a third straight week.
