Rural Medina couple grows and preserves all on small city lot
Mrs. Bernice Bailey and husband Alfonso tend a miniature truck farm at 530 N State Rd Medina. They terrace steep banks with railroad ties, mulch and fertilize vegetables and berries, raise roses and flowers, and preserve much of their harvest. Bailey brews tea from comfrey, cans tomato juice and beets, freezes okra and corn, and makes pickles and sauces to endure winter.
