Miss Melanie Hummel wed Robert Minch in United Trinity Methodist Church Columbus on Saturday afternoon. Guests included Mrs. Granger and Messrs Fred Davis William Hummel and Robert Hummel. A reception followed the ceremony and a buffet supper at the bride’s parents home, Dr and Mrs George Hummel. Mr and Mrs Kermit Grossenbacher visited Springfield with the Martins. Mr and Mrs David Snyder spent the weekend in Williamsburg Virginia.

Bids Open for I 71 Safety Upgrades in Ohio
The State Highway Department announces bids open Aug 22 for a $1.8 million project extending I 71 from north of the Rt 250 interchange in Ashland County to north of the I 80S interchange in Medina County. Upgrades include culverts guard rails fencing traffic signs lighting and pavement markings to meet interstate standards with traffic maintained and completion targeted by Oct 31 1972.

Remsen Church schedules Promotion Sunday and class restart
The Remsen Christian Church will hold the last Sunday of the summer schedule on Sept 3. Promotion Sunday and return to regular Sunday School classes are set for Sept 10. Medina to Get Interconnected Traffic Control System
The State Highway Department says an interconnected traffic control system around Medina Public Square will be completed by April 30, 1973. Bids will be opened August 22. The project costs about $40,000 and includes pedestrian signals and fire lane preemption at the fire station. Traffic will be maintained during installation.
