Home coordinator quits as Farnsworth status unclear
Medina County Commissioners plan to hire a replacement for County Home Coordinator Shirley Johnson who resigned to take an administrator role at a private nursing home in Canton effective Aug 17. Johnson, 47, says she did not leave because Farnsworth returned as superintendent. Farnsworth had been fired in 1977, then reinstated by state boards. Farnsworth filed a Personnel Board of Review complaint. The audit that triggered Farnsworth’s firing found Elaine Stewart, Farnsworth’s daughter, embezzled $12,661. Stewart later repaid funds. Commissioners appeal Farnsworth reinstatement to the Ninth District Court of Appeals.
