Ex-teacher at Medina High School gets 30 days jail and probation
Jason Sturm a former Medina High School mathematics teacher was sentenced in Medina County Common Pleas Court to 30 days in jail and five years probation on two felony counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity oriented material or performance He must register as a tier one sex offender Sturm resigned from the district after being placed on paid administrative leave in November 2023 He had taught at Medina High since August 2005 and served as boys varsity assistant basketball coach since 2021

Woman seriously injured in Medina crosswalk crash
A 72 year old woman was seriously injured Monday morning after being struck by a northbound vehicle in Medina's square crosswalk on Court Street. She was taken to Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital and later flown to another hospital. The driver may face charges after the ongoing investigation.
