Braces Boost Confidence for Phyllis Diller and Others
Phyllis Diller, 55, had $4,000 dental work and braces to straighten crooked front teeth. Five years later she credits braces with revitalizing her smile and career. Adults now make up 10 to 15 percent of orthodontic patients, up from about 1 percent a decade ago, as more people seek self-esteem through straight teeth.
