Funeral services for Thomas Jd Webb 62 who died Friday night at a local hospital will be held Sunday at 4. He was born in Macon county and lived at 212 South King Street. A section supervisor at Firestone Mill he worked there for many years. Survived by wife Maude Bolton Webb and a daughter Mrs Herman B Weeks of Norfolk Virginia. Also brothers H O Eli G Dual of Gastonia Joe of Grover and two sisters Mrs William Cochran of Gastonia and Mrs Jane Crawford of Franklin the latter a half sister. He was a member of Modena Street Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school superintendent. Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park with the pastor Rev W A Costner officiating. The body was to be taken home Saturday at 1 and to Modena Street Church in state for one hour. Carothers Funeral Home in charge.

Chicago police report Dorothy May Wells 21, of St. Petersburg Florida leaped from an eighth floor washroom window in a Michigan Avenue office building. The West Point graduate, engaged to Lt Forrest T. Gay, had a nervous condition and had come to Chicago recently to stay with his parents. A purse and shoes were found near the sill, with fingerprints and torn stockings indicating a desperate attempt to return inside.
