Mr and Mrs A L Rhyne of Route 1 Dallas lost their home and all possessions in an early Sunday fire with only limited insurance. Rhyne works part time as a painter. Friends seek food clothing and money for aid with pickup arranged by calling 5 2990.

A Mississippi rally fueled by political figures called for impeachment of nine Supreme Court Justices who upheld segregation. Former Gov. Herman Talmadge criticized the justices as wasteful and urged continued defense of segregation in Southern schools. Circuit Judge Brady led the crowd of about 4,000 at the municipal baseball park, signaling resolve. Mrs Mary Beatty Sifford 48 of Mount Holly died Wednesday night after a four week illness at Charlotte hospital. Survived by husband Neal B Sifford son James Colin Sifford four brothers and four sisters. She taught at a local school and lived in the area all her life. Funeral Sunday at 3 p.m. at Snow Hill Methodist Church with burial in church cemetery.
