In York S C a monkey named Devil figure in a $2 500 damage suit. Alton Johnson who runs a grocery barber shop and self service laundry kept Devil in a cage on his property and is charged with negligence in a suit by Everett A Baker for his 8 year old daughter Linda. Baker says Devil escaped months ago and attacked Linda at her home leaving bites and scratches. His attorneys subpoenaed Devil but he was not present when the trial began.
The Sheppard family reunion will be held Saturday June 18 at Rankin lake. All relatives and friends of members are invited to attend and bring baskets of luncheon served picnic style at 6:30 p.m. STAIN TIP: Spots on trouser legs and long skirts should be brushed off loose soil then spotted with soap and water.
