Gaston inmate faces new assault charge in jailer attack
Jose Adan Lopez- Rios, 19, already charged with two counts of first degree murder, now faces a misdemeanor assault on a government official after police allege he swung a water bottle at a sheriff's deputy during an incident at Gaston County Jail. He has been jailed since May 27, 2016, for the deaths of Der Reck Monique Brice and Lashea Janine Coleman.
