Lincolnton car wreck claims 1 year old and injuries to mother
A May first Friday crash on South Generals Boulevard in Lincolnton killed a one year old girl and left her mother with minor injuries. Silas Hart drove a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox rear ended by a 2014 Silverado driven by William Karey Jones II. A Lincoln County deputy leading a funeral procession was first on scene. The child died after airlift to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte. Police continue investigation with charges pending.

An alleged drug dealer, David Russell Pittman, 35, of Cherryville, was arrested in Gaston County after police found three bags of heroin, prescription drugs, marijuana, metal pipes and needles. Pittman is held on a 100000 dollar bond on six drug and paraphernalia offenses. his NC record since 1997 includes prior probation and prison time for various offenses. This is his third Gaston County arrest this year after January and February incidents.
