Gaston College wins 500K grant to expand skilled trades
Gaston College earned a 500000 grant from the Golden Leaf Foundation to renovate the Pharr Trade and Industrial Center in Dallas and fund a Center for Advanced Manufacturing at Gastonia Technology Park. Dean Virgil Cox says the upgrade will double welding space and raise machining enrollment by 50 percent to meet demand for skilled workers.
