First Place Elected President of Nebraska Teachers Association

Prof A L Caviness of Fairbury was chosen in Lincoln last week as president of the Nebraska State Teachers Association. About 4100 of the state’s 10000 teachers attended the meeting, roughly half the educators, with Caviness receiving near unanimous support. He has long served Nebraska education, including twenty one years of work and prior terms as treasurer and executive board member. His leadership comes after years of rebuilding the association from a fragile state to steady growth. Fred Tergtmeyer of Plymouth visited county offices earlier in the week.
