Good Road Meeting Sets Route From Oklahoma City to Lincoln
A large Beatrice delegation and Fairbury citizens met in the Commercial Club rooms to discuss a proposed highway from Oklahoma City to Minneapolis diverted through Fairbury Beatrice and Lincoln. Committees will map the route place signs and publish it in road books by July 15 with Beatrice and Hebron among key towns.

Boy Scouts Take First Country Trip This Month
The newly organized Boy Scouts of America chapter met at the public library at 8 am last Tuesday. They rode in cars owned by local residents, toured the city for about half an hour, then visited Holliday farm and held field day sports led by Dr. A. Coats. Rep Cressey taught military tactics before a woodland hike led by W F Cramb. Lunch was carried by the scouts and they returned tired but happy. Next week plans include a northern excursion with base ball and swimming supervised by experienced swimmers, no firearms allowed.

Fight on Rock Island near Thompson nearly fatal outcome
Two Mexican laborers fought on the Rock Island section near Thompson. One man threw the other down and struck him with a large rock, cutting a six inch forehead gash. The injured man was taken to the city for care while the assailant fled and remained missing at press time.
Heidelk Murphy Nuptials In Fairbury
Miss Heidelk and J W Murphy quietly wed at the Catholic parsonage with Father Carey officiating. They honeymoon in Kansas City then plan housekeeping in Davis' flat on Fifth and F streets after returning. Mrs Murphy is the Heidelk family's eldest daughter and a noted musician. Murphy works as a boilermaker for the Rock Island in Fairbury.
