Residents report business travel to Chicago Omaha and Lincoln. Local trades open new coal office remodels. Schools visit Lincoln while a nurse friend recovers from a fall. a young girl suffers scalds from boiling coffee. A civic campaign warns about contagious disease and health rules.
The G A B open meeting will be held at their hall on Friday evening, November 30. The program includes Clark, Ford, Coffman Orchestra, and guest performers. Attendees are invited to attend the tabbed sequence of acts in the eventful evening.
The Woman's Club program focused on Poor and Practical Philanthropy with Mrs Showalter delivering a recitation. Music by Madam s Perry and Peterson and Miss Tolleth Cuykendall and McDowell complimented the event. Gifts were numerous aiding the committee. The November 27 schedule includes quotations from Victor Hugo, French life and manners talk by Mise Pease, and talks on suburbs, Paris exposition, and Hugo’s influence by Mrs Steele and Miss troops.
At a Thursday meeting the Fairbury Board of Health adopted a resolution urging residents to clean yards and alleys to curb winter disease. It calls to enforce ordinances against street garbage dumping and requires attending physicians to report to the city clerk.

The Swede company Hane Hanson featuring Jas T. McAlpin is billed for a performance at Steele's Opera House on Wednesday November 28. McAlpin previously appeared in Ole Ole sen and drew strong praise from local admirers. A street parade is announced and Dr Kay's Renovator is advertised.

An advertisement touts Dr King’s New Life Pills as the source of health and energy. It claims strong will and success come from good digestion and organs, and notes the pills cost 25 cents at G. P. Weisel’s Drug Store.
