J E Whitney visits Wabash. Wm Osborn moves to Urbana. A light snow Wednesday. Various residents attend to business in Lincoln Lincon and surrounding areas. Weddings social dances church revival meetings. Local trades, real estate transfers, and a note on mutual insurance agents.
The High School offers singing lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school led by Miss Powers. The A S B had an open meeting Thursday evening. Windy suffered his wind knocked out last Saturday for the first time. A junior wrote the ballad Good Bye described as sleep inducing. Miss Powers teaches ninth grade civics bookkeeping and algebra. Prof W L Stephens of Beatrice visited Thursday. Rev Clark preaches at Tallview tomorrow evening. Md Keyser visits town from Lincoln.
George Derr visits from Florton as farmers show new machinery and gear up for spring work. Wilkins family plans a move to Oklahoma. J T Carpenter buys a farm east of town. Ed Rigley moves to a south farm. Ponders reports a one year old child born. AW Will White rents Ed Rigley’s north farm after relocating from Illinois. Sickles arrives from Wisconsin to manage the new cheese factory opening.
Ray Gehr remains in Grand Island emergency hospital with a light form of smallpox and has not suffered disruption to meals or sleep. W J Babcock family and Mrs Walter A Leonard depart Endicott for Armour Pawnee County. George B Galbraith builds a new house for Chester Church in his nursery project. Charley Lindgren buys a horse at S Gehr sale. The eight H Gehr personal property sale occurs with a fair crowd and prices fair.
August Swartz and Clara Powell wed at noon at the bride’s mother Mrs. Elizabeth Powell home in Gladstone. The German Lutheran pastor officiated with only immediate relatives present. A wedding dinner followed as wishes for a long life together were offered.
Fairbury residents press for developing a public park citing hardy grove trees with rainwater only, urging timely watering manuring and June trimming to create an outdoor auditorium on fertile ground.
