H K Schmitt 2 miles west of Daykin offers horses cattle hogs and farm gear plus steam threshing outfit for sale Friday Feb 24 at 10 am. Badd Cropsey handles the sale proclaiming it a big one. Patron W H Stapleton of Herminie Pa commends Chamberlain Pain Balm and Peto Balm praised as relieving rheumatic pain after a single application. Sold by A V Peano & Co. druggists.
The board selected twenty jurors from sixty electors for the district court term beginning March 18, naming Henry Teitzen and nineteen others. Henry Baker sought Daniel Schleininger as overseer for district 44, replacing Noah Slavard. Official bonds approved for local officials, claims for road and county expenses listed, and adjournment set for March 8, 1899.

District Court in Jefferson County Nebraska hearing a mortgage foreclosure action. The defendants Wil Watkins Harriet Watkins and others are required to answer by March 5 1900 after a note and mortgage secured by the southwest quarter of section 28 township 2 north range 1 east. The plaintiff Gloria Hille & Kin seeks payment of 1500 with interest and costs on the note assigned from Volney Kinyon. The mortgage is recorded in Mortgage Record 23 page 184.
Notice to non resident defendants in Jefferson County Nebraska dated February 8 1208 regarding a mortgage foreclosure. The petition names Henrietta A Sackett as plaintiff and Augneta A Prentice Thomas J Prentice and Ephraim Prentice as defendants. The suit seeks foreclosure on Lots seven eight nine in block thirty five Fairbury and related land. The note shows 925.20 interest increases and principal default. The petition indicates Ephraim Prentice claims an interest via a mortgage recorded in book h of mortgages. The case notes long lapse without action and seeks foreclosure of all interests.
Notice is given that under an order of sale from the district court of Jefferson County Nebraska the sheriff will auction at the south front door of the Fairbury courthouse on Wednesday February 15 at 1:00 p.m. the west half of the northeast quarter section 3 town 1 north range 1 east for cash to satisfy a decree in a mortgage foreclosure for the plaintiff Mutual Insurance Company of New Jersey and others.
