The Presbyterian choir hosts at Mr and Mrs Jad Clark's home with dinner after rehearsal and plans for further practice. Also reports new law partnership Heasty & Barnes, and notes Guy Reed’s death and funeral in Omaha. Community notices include school and local events, anniversaries, and a political candidate announcement by Guv. E. Jenkins.
J C Bishop visited Mabaska and Peter Junker called Wednesday. The W T U met at Mrs Spencer's last Thursday. A big wolf hunt was held ten miles south. Our blacksmith kept busy with spring machinery. Mrs Mina Sanborn visited J O Bishop and wife. Mrs Eekhoff and daughter Hilka were Fairbury callers. Alice Wilson from the county capital visited here. Revival meetings at Reynolds draw crowds and report several conversions. Local youths enjoyed numerous skating parties this winter with good times.
A piano sale offers a snap bargain. Prospective buyers are advised to call the office or visit the Emarraise home on D between Tenth and Eleventh.
Real estate transfers reported for the week ending Jan 29 1886 list several deeds. Named parties include Reuben B Powell Thomas J Powell Homer H Thompson Mollie M Giark George Y Smith and Charles C Andrews with parcels in areas referenced as 28-3-1 and McDowell's addition. Transfers show prices and property notes in a condensed ledger style.
